Picture one is the Spring at SAWYERS FORT present day in middle of a field
on the banks of the Middle River, second picture of the field, with the spring to the right.

This is a sign on the highway explaining Virginia's last Indian attack which was on the Trimble family
as they were heading for the safety of Sawyers fort.
