Arthur Haymond Sawyers lived in Dyer, WV.  He and his brother, Flem Sawyers,

bought a house together in Dyer.  After some time, they become unhappy with the situation

and Arthur built a house just down from his brother Emmett Sawyers. That house later

burned down. After his brother Flem's death, he married my mother, Georgia Rhea Goodwin,

and they moved into the house Arthur and Flem had bought together, on the Williams River.

This is where I grewup.  Before Arthur married my mother, he had woked in Logging Camps as a

cook, a Barber, and a Surveyer . As a survyer in the 30's, he and his brother Flem Sawyers

surveyed and found coal for the Gauley Mountian Coal Company. Arthur worked

for Gauley Mountaim Coal Company until 1950, retiring at age 65. He traded in his

1936 Ford Coupe for a new 1950 model Ford which I drove through High School.

Arthur lived in Dyer until his death.

He is buried in Hickman Cemetery Dyer, WV.
